Apple Crisp

Updated: Feb 7

A classic apple dish! And a great way to use up those few wrinkly apples you have laying about! Top with Chantilly cream (Whip cream) or Ice cream heaped up on top!

INGREDIENTS

Apple Mixture:

5-6 large Apples, a mix of spartan, honey crisp & 2 of them Granny Smith (or whatever you have laying about)

3 tbsp Brown Sugar

1 tbsp Cinnamon

1/2 Lemon, juiced

Dash of Salt

Topping:

1/2 cup Butter, melted

1/2 cup Rolled Oats

1/2 cup Flour

1/4 cup Brown Sugar

3 tsp Cinnamon

Dash of Salt

INSTRUCTIONS

Prepare a small baking pan with vegetable spray. Set aside for now. Preheat oven to 350 F.

If you are using large apples 5 or 6 will be enough. However if they are on the smaller then i would double apples but continue to make the recipe the same.

Now peel and core apples, then cut into slices, add to medium mixing bowl.

Sprinkle with the brown sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice and a dash of salt & mix until apples are completely coated. Using a rubber spatula transfer the apple mixture into the prepared baking dish.

In that same mixing bowl combine, rolled oats, flour, sugar, melted butter, cinnamon and pinch of salt. Mix well until the butter completely mixed through. Now top the apple mixtures with the rolled oat mixture, spreading evenly.

Bake at 375 f for 25-30 minutes until apple mixture is bubbling and fragrant and oats have turned a golden brown color. Serve with Chantilly cream (whipping cream) or Vanilla Ice cream!
