Apple Pie

The perfect way to use up all those apples you have laying around this fall. With this simple but tasty apple pie recipe!

INGREDIENTS

25-30 Fresh Apples (rough estimate)

1 cup Brown Sugar

! cup White Sugar

1/2 cup All purpose Flour

1 Lemon, juiced

3 tsp Cinnamon

1/2 tsp Nutmeg

1 tsp Salt

INSTRUCTIONS

Begin by peeling, coring and slicing apples! (There are handy little gadgets you can pick up from Crate and Barrel or any other kitchen gadget type store. They make everything so much easier, so i highly suggest getting one. But if you don't have one, simply peel with a regular peeler, the core and cut into smaller pieces.)

Toss prepared apples in a large mixing bowl and add all ingredients listed above, using a rubber spatula mix through until ingredients are completely incorporated. Make sure to test taste your mixture! Some apples may be sweet to begin with so they won't need as much sugar. But if you are using tart locally grown apples, a little extra sugar will help!

Make up your pie dough and use filling until none remaining, this recipe should make about 2-3 pies depending on how full you fill them! Bake pies at 350 F until golden brown and fragrant. Let cool on counter for 10 minutes or so (if freezing, let pies cool completely before placing in a large Ziplock bag. These should last in the freezer for 2 months or so! Just stick them bake in the oven again to get it nice and crispy and warm!?

Enjoy a slice with vanilla ice cream, whip cream or even some cheddar cheese!
