Chocolate Chip Cookies

Updated: Nov 20, 2023

A family recipe passed down through generations. These will be the best cookies you've ever made!

INGREDIENTS

1 1/2 cup Butter or Margarine, softened

1 1/2 cup White Sugar

3/4 cup Brown Sugar

3 Eggs

1 tsp Vanilla

4 cups White Flour

1 1/2 tsp Baking Soda

3/4 tsp Salt

1 1/2 cups Semi-sweet Chocolate Chips

INSTRUCTIONS

Add softened butter or margarine to stand-up mixing bowl. Turn on to medium speed and using paddle attachment whip butter until light and fluffy.

Use a spatula to scrap side. Add 1 cup of white sugar and mix again on medium speed until combined. Continue this process until both measurements of white and brown sugar have been incorporated.

Scrape sides once again. Add eggs at a time. Mixing well in between and use spatula to push down any butter mixture stuck to sides of bowl. Finally add vanilla and mix.

In a separate medium bowl measure flour, baking soda and salt. Mix lightly, add to butter mixture 1/4 at a time mixing on low to medium speed until all flour mixture has been incorporated. Remember to make good use of your spatula!

Measure out chocolate chips and add them to the cookie dough mixture, continue to mix until just combined. Dough should still be soft but not overly sticky.

Remove bowl from mixer and begin balling cookie dough, either with a dough baller or a large spoon. Place dough balls on a prepared baking sheet 12 at a time. Bake at 350 f for 12 minutes at a time on middle rack. Remove when cookies are golden brown, allow to cool for 5 minutes or so.

Transfer cookies onto parchment sheet on counter top and allow to continue cooling.

Enjoy with a cold glass of milk.
