Chocolate Sauce

Writer's picture: Samantha DonaldsonSamantha Donaldson

This Chocolate sauce is a delicious blend of cocoa, sugar, and a touch of vanilla, resulting in a velvety, rich sauce. And its completely dairy free, vegan/vegetarian & can be stored in the fridge for up to a month or more! If it lasts that long!

INGREDIENTS

2/3 cup Cocoa Powder

1 2/3 cup White Sugar

1 1/4 cup Water

1 tsp Vanilla

INSTRUCTIONS

Gather together your ingredients and measure as per instructed. Pour into a medium sized sauce pan.

Place on stove and turn heat to medium, stirring with a whisk to first combine ingredients and then every so often to keep sauce smooth and lump free. Once sauce comes to a boil simmer for 1 minute. Be sure to keep an eye on sauce because it can boil over and make quite the mess!

Once sauce has boiled for 1 minute, remove from heat and let cool. Then transfer to a glass mason jar or glass container. Seal tightly and store in fridge for up to a month or more! (be careful not to use dirty spoons or double dip as this will introduce bacteria!)

Use in milk to make chocolate milk or as chocolate sauce on desserts, coffee or whatever you like!
