These biscuits are a perfect pairing with butter and jam or even soup! Full of cheesy flavor and savory herbs & oh so easy to make!
INGREDIENTS
2 cups All Purpose Flour
4 tsp Baking Powder
2 tbsp White Sugar
1 tbsp Fresh, Thyme, Rosemary or Parsley
3/4 tsp Salt
1 cup Cheese, grated
(your choice of cheese, I like Aged Cheddar or Havarti)
1/3 cup Cooking Oil
3/4 cup Milk
INSTRUCTIONS
Measure first five ingredients into a medium mixing bowl.
Feel free to use whichever cheese or herbs you have in your fridge! They are great no matter what you put in them! I like doing and an aged cheese with a combination of all the herbs.
Stir to combine dry ingredients.
Measure vegetable oil and milk and add to dry mixture, using a large spatula to combine. Stir until dough begins to form. Lightly flour your surface, get out a rolling pin,
round biscuit cutter (or small glass if your short a cutter) and some extra flour.
Using hands continue to form dough until it becomes a
loose ball, transfer to your floured surface. Sprinkle with more flour on top and begin rolling out. I aim for about 1 to 1 1/2 inch thickness. Using round cutter, cut biscuits
keeping cutting as close together as possible. Continue to cut until there is no space left for your cutter. Place on a prepared parchment covered baking sheet.
Combine dough once again and continue process until no dough remains. If you only have a small amount left, roll into a ball and add with rest of biscuits.
Measure 1 tbsp of milk, using a pastry brush, brush tops of all biscuits, this will help them to brown.
In a 400 f oven bake biscuits for 15 minutes or until fluffy and nicely browned.
Serve plain or with butter or jam. Or even serve them with soup!
