Irish Soda Bread

A simple but delicous bread that can be made up at a moments notice. So light and fluffy with a hard crust. The perfect side to an soup or stew.


INGREDIENTS

1 cup Milk

2 tbsp White Vinegar

2 1/2 cups Flour

1 tbsp Sugar

1/2 tsp Salt

1/2 tsp Baking Soda


INSTRUCTIONS


Begin by preheating oven to 400 F. Measure out milk and stir in white vingear, set aside to curdle.

Then in a large bowl measure out flour, sugar, salt and baking soda. Stir together gently. Now that the milk has curdled slowly add it into the flour mixture, stir gently to work it in.

Stop mixing just when the milk has been worked through. Dough should be quite sticky and turn dough out onto a flourd surface. Knead the dough for a few minutes until it forms a soft ball like loaf. With a sharp knife cut a X shape into the top of the dough. Place dough in a medium sized baking pan lined with parchment paper. Bake for 3-0-40 minutes until golden brown. Slice and serve warm with a bit of butter on the side of a soup or stew!
