This Sesame ginger beef is a snap to make and just bursting with unami flavor! Perfect for those busy weeknight dinners!
INGREDIENTS
1 lb. Skirt Steak, thinly sliced
Salt & Pepper
3-4 tbsps Corn Starch
1-2 tbsp Sunflower oil
2-3 crowns Broccoli, wash & trimmed into smaller pieces
3-4 cloves Garlic, pressed
3” piece of ginger, peeled & diced fine (or of dry Ginger works too)
¼ cup Soya sauce
1 tbsp Rice Vinegar
3 tbsps Brown Sugar
2-3 Green onions, chopped
1 tbsp Sesame seeds
1 cup cooked Jasmine Rice or Rice noodles would be good too!
INSTRUCTIONS
Place beef stripes in a medium sized bowl and sprinkle evenly with salt & pepper, mixing and re-seasoning until the beef is nicely coated. Repeat this process with the corn starch & then using work the corn starch into the meat.
In a large non-stick skillet or wok over med-high heat, heat 1 tbsp of Sunflower oil and cook broccoli florets for only a few minutes until broccoli is just beginning to become tender. Add a tablespoon of water if you like to steam them a little. Remove florets from pan and set aside. Discard any water left over.
Return skillet to heat and add the remaining tablespoon of sunflower oil, when oil is hot add in the beef and cook for only 2-3 minutes until beef is lightly browned and still tender. Add in garlic, soya sauce, ginger, rice vinegar, brown sugar. Stir quickly to coat beef, then add in the broccoli florets and cook for a few more minutes until broccoli is warmed. Now add in the fresh chopped green onions and the tablespoon of sesame seeds. Serve over fresh Jasmine rice or Rice noodles would be tasty too! & its extra good with a few spring rolls on the side!
